Digital Analytics Classes and Workshops I’m Doing This Fall/Winter

Web analytics hasn’t seen the last of me yet.

I largely tell people that I’m retired from doing digital analytics stuff, and while in my head that’s true, the fact is I’m doing more teaching and training about digital measurement and analytics than ever. I’m cool with that, teaching is definitely a better fit for my life and also my philsophy about digital analytics now. I think it’s best that as many digital professionals as possible know the fundamentals of analytics than a handful of specialists. A lot of industries could benefit from that baseline knowledge and the process of demystification.

A couple of weeks ago I was a part of a panel of  practitioners talking about blogging and analytics for WSOL, it was a good conversation and it reminded me a lot of what I still find engaging about the field. You can check it out here.

I’ll be doing workshops with Public Narrative this fall as well,  as mentioned a couple of months ago.  On November 16, I’ll be teaching an SEO workshop, and on December 7, I’ll be teaching Analytics.

Finally, in January I’ll be teaching a undergraduate class in web analytics for journalists at the DePaul College of Communication. If you want more detailed info about that, just e-mail me, and I will post more details on it later.

So as with most things when it comes to my career in digital, if you ask me what I’ve been up to, it’s complicated. If you need me to do some actual analytics implementation, etc. for you, the answer is

but if you are interested in any of my classes or trainings (especially if you’re a journalist or publisher) the response is

So I’m still “doing analytics”, but … not. I’m kinda like Batman in the Justice League Unlimited series where he wasn’t there on a day to day basis but if you called him, he’d show up.
