I’m a writer, editor, and digital strategist.
I write about technology and pop culture (mostly music and film). I’ve been published in Chicago Sun-Times, Time Out Chicago, ALARM Magazine, Bitch Media, Paste Magazine, Wondering Sound and more. I’m currently a contributing editor for JSTOR Daily.
I’m the co-founder of The Learned Fangirl, a web publication focused on the geekier side of pop culture, fandom, and online community. I’ve spoken about media and pop culture at Chicago Public Radio and at conferences like BlogHer and EMP Pop Conference.
I also teach bloggers, businesses and non-profits about web analytics and content strategy. I teach regularly at Mediabistro and taught one of the first courses of its kind in analytics at Northwestern University.
